A liaison between the allergy community,
healthcare providers, and therapy practitioners, Tamara is perfectly positioned to provide consultation and educational services to all of these stakeholders, as well as healthcare and biotechnology companies servicing the allergy community. An allied health member of both AAAAI and ACAAI, she's familiar with the latest research and able to translate it in a relatable way in order to offer practical insights and tools. She is a regular presenter at national conferences, community webinars and education workshops.

Additionally, her relationships with a large network of allergy-informed therapy providers opens opportunities for The Food Allergy Counselor to bring on other therapists to offer additional workshops/webinars on a variety of specialty topics within allergy and immunology, such as specific therapeutic ​interventions and clinical diagnoses.

Consultation, Education & Webinars for Allergy Practices & Healthcare Providers:
Allergy practices and/or healthcare providers will benefit from consultation and education sessions with Tamara, as they will learn how to better serve their patients' psychosocial needs. For consultations, Tamara starts the process with a needs assessment to understand your patient flow and protocols, as well as your specific goals for the consultation. From there, she will provide you an outline of solutions, strategies and recommendations to meet your specific goals. For education sessions, Tamara will virtually provide education to your practice staff on a variety of topics that will enhance your patients' experience of psychosocial care. 

Examples of consultation session topics include, but are not limited to: ​
  • Reviewing/assessing current patient education and support services to identify areas for improvement
  • Exploring practice and patient benefits of adding psychosocial components to allergy care
  • Review models of multidisciplinary patient care and coordination with allied healthcare providers
  • Review of validated and narrative/patient-report assessments to evaluate patient anxiety & quality of life impacts
  • Guidance and help with enhancing patient education and information materials beyond allergy basics
  • Creating a psychosocially-supportive food allergy treatment program or patient services​​

  • Practical strategies to enhance the patient experience, such as how language used with patients impacts mindset
  • Models to use that offer a comprehensive understanding of factors impacting allergy patients' quality of life

  • Common mental health/psychosocial impacts associated w/food allergies (and how they differ from general anxiety)
  • Helping allergy patients navigate family, relationship and social impacts
  • Common feelings and thoughts parents/caregivers report​
